Star Trek vs. Racism- a meaningful post

Star Trek happened in the 1960s when racism was still a problem in the west, especially America. Yet, despite everything, there was an African-American woman, a Japanese man and a Russian man all in charge of stations on the ship and recurring cast members. Just one of the reasons Star Trek is brilliant. And Voyager has a Native American on as Commander, and all the other examples, aside from the fact that you really do have different races (Vulcans, Bajorans, other ones I can't spell) . Only watching Star Trek again now that I'm not, like, seven makes me realize that the technology isn't the only futuristic thing about it. Gene Roddenberry was quite a visionary. I suppose we can only try to make an Earth as peaceful as the one in Star Trek. Meanwhile, we can all start by trying our best to get over our prejudices, however an impossible task that may seem
